Privacy Policy – PDF-VC

PDF-VC (PDF Visual Composer) is a native desktop application developed by AGAP for viewing, composing, vector block editing, OCR, diagnostics, and processing of PDF documents.
1. Data Processing and Document Contents
PDF-VC does not require user registration or accounts and does not systematically collect personal data in order to provide its core functionalities.
Documents and files processed with PDF-VC may contain personal details, confidential contracts, or trade secrets. All document processing is performed strictly locally on the user's computer to execute operations such as opening, viewing, block editing, Bates numbering, OCR, redaction, conversion, export, compression, and saving.
PDF-VC never transmits the contents of your documents to AGAP or any external cloud servers.
2. File Access and Local Permissions
The application accesses local files and directories solely to carry out operations explicitly triggered by the user, such as opening and saving documents, inserting pages, importing DOCX/ODT files, or exporting graphical formats and FDF/CSV form data.
Users maintain complete control over their files and decide which files to open, edit, save, or export.
3. Locally Stored Data and Recovery Snapshots
PDF-VC may store application settings locally on your machine (e.g. dark/light theme preference, toolbar mode, language choice), recent file shortcuts, auto-recovery snapshots, and technical runtime preferences.
Such data is stored exclusively on your device and can be removed at any time by deleting the application settings or local application storage.
4. Network Connections & External Services
PDF-VC runs fully standalone and offline. Network connections may occur on a strictly limited basis only to check for available software updates (if enabled by the user) or when opening links explicitly clicked by the user (such as GitHub issue tracker or online documentation).
The application does not sell personal data, includes no third-party advertising trackers, and performs no user profiling.
5. Security & User Responsibility
PDF-VC is built to process documents locally. Users remain responsible for the security of their devices, backups of original documents, and the channels through which exported documents are subsequently stored or shared.
6. User Rights and Direct Control
Because all documents and preferences are stored locally on your device, you have immediate, direct control over your data and can view, edit, or delete it using standard operating system tools.
